19 of Medvedev's 21 victories have been won on hard courts
A comeback Daniil Medvedev won his first title for 882 days with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the competition final.
Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging year, managing just one win at the major tournaments and undergoing a meltdown at the American major.
His unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serving in particular - resulted in him dropping out of the elite rankings and finally splitting with former coach his previous coach.
Currently training with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has steadily progressed in the last few weeks - peaking in a hard-fought competitive win over opponent Moutet.
This marks the player's first title following the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface since March of 2023.
Success also signifies the Russian has secured 21 championships at 21 various competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a tournament with my both daughters together, so to get a trophy is particularly special," stated world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in dedication of my younger daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I achieved when my first daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his past six finals, featuring in Halle earlier this year.
Medvedev's counter-punching approach and regular reactions on the playing surface had led some to wonder if his capacity to play at the elite level was finished.
However the athlete has altered his approach in the last few weeks, attempting to come to the net and perform aggressively, backed up by an enhanced serving game.
He fought back from a deficit in the opening set against the difficult Moutet, winning four of the last five points to go ahead.
Both players exchanged service breaks in the following set before the challenger, striving for his maiden ATP Tour championship, took control to force a third set.
Moutet rescued 4 early-game opportunities in a tight final set before Medvedev secured a break to 15 to serve for the match.
Fittingly, he earned the title with a rally at the net area, with Moutet unable to handle a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
